One of the most surprising things about Culpeper Memorial Hospital is the number and variety of advanced surgical procedures performed here. Specialties include orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, gynecology, general surgery, and ear and throat surgery.
Orthopedic surgeons at CMH perform total joint replacements and arthroscopy; ophthalmologist performs cataract surgery, corneal transplants and implants; urologist fragments kidney stones; gynecologist reverses sterilizations; otolaryngologist installs middle ear prostheses to restore hearing and performs plastic surgery.
Assisted by professional nurses, technicians, and anesthesists, highly trained and experienced surgeons perform surgery with state-of-the-art equipment. With recent advances in surgical technology, many patients are able to leave the hospital following surgery because their procedures are performed with tiny incisions, less loss of blood, and less anesthesia.
