Former Virginia Governor Charles S. Robb will be the 1987 recipient of the Outstanding Virginian Award at ceremonies May 9 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center near FVont Royal.

The popular former governor received more votes for the state’s highest office than any candidate in Virginia history - serving from January 1982 to January 1986. While in office, he served as chairman of the Southern Governors Association, chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, chairman of the Education Commission of the States, president of the Council of State Governments, and chairman of the National Governors Association Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Protection.
