Sean Bennett, a 15-year-old Wakefield senior from Boston, Va., has been named a National Merit Scholar for 1987. Chosen one of 5.500 Merit Scholars from among 13.500 finalists nationwide, Sean has been awarded a $2000 scholarship to the college of his choice.
On the same day that he was named a National Merit Scholarship recipient, Sean and another Wakefield senior, Lisa Larimer of Front Royal, received acceptance notification for the fall of 1987 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Both students are waiting to hear from other colleges before making a decision on attendance.
