Daylight Savings Time ends
For those looking for some extra shuteye on the weekend, Sunday morning will offer one extra hour. Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, so be sure to turn the clock back one hour before retiring Saturday evening. Along with the extra hour of sleep will come shorter afternoons, although early risers will appreciate the fact the sun will seem to rise an hour earlier.
Absentee ballots due
Registrar of Voters Nancy Leake reminds residents that the deadline for residents planning to vote by absentee ballot is Saturday, Nov. 3. Mrs. Leake's office will be open Saturday, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the convenience of residents. Her office will also be open during regular hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. For information about absentee voting or other election matters, call 675-3739.
