The Department of Forestry is now accepting seedling orders for the spring planting season. Landowners should place their orders soon since some species sell out fast.

This year, there are nearly 30 different tree species and wildlife food shrubs available for sale. A wildlife package containing 100 seedlings of various trees and shrubs is also offered. The number of species available this year represents the widest selection ever offered by the Department of Forestry. Both hardwoods and evergreens can be ordered. The seedlings are sold in bundles of 25 to 1,000 depending on the species.

The seedlings are grown in Department of Forestry nurseries located in Augusta, New Kent, and Sussex counties. Locally grown seedlings coupled with the network of cold storages across the state assures the shipment of fresh, viable seedlings. It also insures that the
