Turkey walk Nov. 4
The Rappahannock Chapter of the American Heart Association will conduct its annual “Turkey Walk” at the intersections of Route 600 and Route 612 in Old Hollow on Sunday, Nov. 4. The walk is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. For more information regarding registration, walker sponsorship and prizes to be won call Ann Miller (6751001) or Marion Facchina (937-500 or 675-3516).
Aerobic classes
Simply Aerobics classes are now being taught at the Amissville fire hall Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. A babysitter will be provided. For more information call Beth Levick at 675-3108 or Jan Zeamer at 349-3225.
Citrus fruit sale
The Rappahannock Music Boosters Club is now selling cirtus fruit through the month of November. Fruit can be purchased from any band or chorus members and seventh graders. Proceeds will go towards purchasing band uniforms and the seventh grade trip. Fall festival at RCES
The Halloween fall festival will be held Friday, Oct. 26 at the Rappahannock Elementary School. The event starts with the 7th grade pizza dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Cost is $5 per person (allu-can-eat). The dinner will be followed by a haunted house, Astro jump rides, games and more from 6 to 9 p.m. in the gym. The festival is sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and proceeds will benefit the elementary school.
Help for abusers, victims
Services for Abused Families Inc. of Culpeper sponsors weekly support groups for abusers and the victims of domestic violence. A group for women with relationship problems meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., and a similar group for men with problems including anger and violence meets each Monday at 6:30 p.m. The location of these meetings is confidential. For more information, call SAFE (825-8876 or 349-0309). Individual counseling is also available; there is no charge for these services.
