fluence. The trooper said, however, that Mr. Webster's DUI was not the cause of the accident.

Fire and rescue personnel from Washington, Flint Hill and Amissville Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the accident. Both vehicles were totalled.

Trooper Keen also investigated a property damage accident Saturday evening on Route 707, about one mile west of Route 231.

In that accident, a 16-year-old from Maryland was charged with failure to drive to the right of the road after he rounded a sharp curve on the dirt road and hit another car head-on.

The second driver, Karen Judith Moore, 34, of Frederick, Maryland, was not injured. Her car, a 1988 Subaru station wagon, suffered about $1,000 damage, Trooper Keen said.

The juvenile was not injured either. His car, a 1977 Chevrolet station wagon, had about $400 damage, the trooper estimated. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
