The mailbox is overflowing with catalogs tempting shoppers to start making their lists for Christmas gifts.
It may seem early to think about Christmas, after all Halloween hasn’t been celebrated yet. But merchants are making their plans, so consumers should have ‘a strategy too. If you plan well, you should be able to get the most for your money, find that special gift for each person on your list, and actually have time to enjoy the holiday season.
You need to start with a plan. The plan should include time management and money management. This is important because if you don’t plan your time well, you may find yourself spending more on convenience items or on more expensive gifts because you don’t have the time to search for alternatives.
Start by getting a calendar that you can write on each day. Mark the days that you plan to mail packages and cards. Then work backwards and mark the dates that you must start writing the cards and buying or making the items you plan to send.
