Under Dr. Nielsen’s leadership Culpeper Memorial Hospital recently acquired a new ultrasound system, replaced a tomography room, and it is in the process of adding a new radiographic-fluoroscopic room that will give the Hospital the capability of accomplishing angiographic exams. This past year the Hospital initiated MR I services on a weekly basis.
CMH has had a mobile CT scanner for several years. It has been available only on a limited basis, however, which is the major reason Dr. Nielsen, after taking over the department, established as his first priority the acquisition of a hospitalbased unit. When the scanner is put into use in late spring, CT technology will be available to patients and physicians on a full-time basis.
