Warner for Senate
Republican U.S. Senator John W. Warner, seeking his third six-year term, faces only incidental opposition from Nancy B. Spannaus, who calls herself an Independent Democrat and who is a supporter of political extremist Lyndon LaRouche.
We back Sen. Warner, of course, but remain disappointed that Virginia Democrats couldn’t find a candidate this year to challenge the incumbent on such questions as his 11th hour support for the Manassas battlefields and his role in the $38 million bailout of Avtex Fibers before the Front Royal plant was discovered to be the state’s largest polluter and was shut down.
