The seedlings can be planted for a variety of purposes. These include timber production, erosion control, Christmas trees, sight and sound barriers, and improvement of wildlife habitat. To determine the best species for a particular planting purpose, contact the Department of Forestry office. They can offer suggestions on recommended species, seedling spacing, preparing the planting site, and the best planting method. Also, available government cost-share programs for which a planting site might quality can be discussed.
