“Parents should come with their children for a night of fun and food,” Mrs. Berta said, adding children should be accompanied by an adult when attending the function, not left on school grounds unattended.
“We are hoping this idea will catch on and we can do it each year,” Mrs. Berta said.
The Child Care and Learning Center is inviting everyone out for a night of ghouls, ghosts, goblins and hot dogs roasted on an open fire at its second annual Haunted Hay Rides on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.
“This is not just for children,” organizer Rose Ann Sharp said of the affair, held at Mountain Green Farm, one mile down Route 622 in Harris Hollow. “We would really like to see more teenagers out there this year,” she said, adding the group needs able-bodied men interested in helping with this year’s event, also.
