To the Editor.
I am an unemployed single parent of two young children, and it is difficult for me to pay my bills and make ends meet. With help from my family and a few odd jobs I pick up, I have a limited amount of income each month, from this I pay housing, food, clothing, and other necessary expenses for my two daughters and myself.
One expense I’ve been unable to meet this year is the purchase of a county sticker for my car and my county personal property tax.
While attending county fire department carnivals this summer, several times Rappahannock sheriff deputies have hassled me about not having a county sticker. I do not deny my obligation to try and pay my taxes or my county sticker, but I have been unable to do so.
On the other hand, Sheriff John Woodward has a full-time job and financially should be capable of purchasing stickers for his personal vehicles. However, Mr. Woodward has a motor home with a dead sticker on it.
It is disgusting to me that he has his deputies out enforcing laws he does not even comply with himself.
In the upcoming election I am going to vote for Roger Cordani. I believe he will be a sheriff who obeys the laws he is elected to enforce.
