Chief Forest Warden Raymond
M. Johnson of Rappahannock County, announces the strengthening of his fire control organization by the appointment of John A. Tapp of Amissville as local forest warden. Mr. Tapp will assist in forest fire control activities in Jackson District. Chief Forest Warden Johnson, in commenting on the appointment of Mr. Tapp, advised that contrary to popular notions, forest wardens are not salaried employees of the state. They are public spirited men who have agreed to mobilize local man-power and fight forest fires in their community. They are paid by the State on an hourly basis only while investigating and suppressing forest fires.
