By emphasizing learning in the classroom, and faced with firm goals, attention to academics will improve. Disciplinary problems, distracting and wasting so much time, and nice-to-have but peripheral topics, will all decline.
One interesting and hopeful feature of “America 2000” is to create “one-of-a-kind” high performance schools in each Congressional District by 19%. Mr. Darby will work hard in Richmond to make this reality in our 7th District. He believes gifted and talented children should not have their educational opportunities limited by family finances. Let’s put our money where the greater return for society is likely.
