Jack Clater
Jack Smith Clater, 60, of Sperryville, died Friday, Oct. 18 at his residence.
Mr. Clater was bom April 11, 1931 in Rappahannock County, the son of Mrs. Mary Ethel Atkins Clater and the late George Roxie Clater.
He was employed by the Federal Reserve and was a member of the Sperryville VFW and the American Legion of Front Royal.
Surviving besides his mother, are a son, Mike Clater of India, Calif.; two brothers, Gid Clater of Sperryville and Robert Clater of Manassas and a sister, Mrs. Charles Dodson of Sperryville.
Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 21 at Sperryville Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Von Fange officiating.
Pallbearers were Wayne Carwile, Ed Payne, Danny Baldwin, Wilson Burke, Randolph Clater, Julian Brown, John Eubank, Donald Gore and Charles K. Estes.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Rapidan.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
