The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance from 9 to 2 this Saturday, Oct. 26 at the fire hall. Tarragon Band will be featured. For details, call Sheila at 937-4357.

Jay Hodgens, director of Department of Waste Management, Culpeper County, advises there is an urgent need for volunteers to assist with the recycling operation every fourth Saturday from 9 to noon at Poplar Corner Store on Route 229.

The community is urged to take their glass, newsprint, steel, and aluminum cans to Poplar Comer for recycling on the fourth Saturday (plastics cannot be accepted yet).

Mr. Hodgens is trying to establish a pool of volunteers so they can rotate and not have to work every month. It would be helpful if someone had a pickup to take the recyclables to the Culpeper County landfill
