There is a variety of activities for area children this Halloween season, some in Rappahannock and several in neighboring Fauquier.

For the third year in a row, the Child Care and Learning Center is putting on a Haunted Hayride, Friday and Saturday in Washington, Va.

The rides start at 6 p.m. both nights, and the kids are loaded by the dozens onto hay wagons and pulled through the barnyard, orchard and fields, where nightmarish scares await.

Tickets purchased in advance are $4 for adults, $2 for children over 12 months. Rides are $6 for adults, $3 for children over 12 months the night of the event. Contact the school at 675-3237 for advance tickets.
