At the Washington Town
Council meeting, Oct. 14, Mayor Newbill Miller informed the Council that the pipe hooking the new town well up to the Washington water supply was in place and that the pump had been replaced with a new one. “All that remains,” he said,” is to flush the lines, run chlorine in and let it stay for a while and then clean the lines out again.” The mayor said that more than 3800 feet of pipe had been laid to accomplish the hook-up and that 400 feet of this was drilled through rock. Both the mayor and council treasurer Brad Fisher expressed their satisfaction with the work so far.
