Sharon Lee Gill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gill of True Blue, Virginia, became the bride of Ensign USNavy Richard Lee Baines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus A. Baines, Jr., of “Laurel Banks” of Tappahannock on Sept. 7.
The couple was married in Zoar Baptist Church in Orange County. Rev. John McKay officiated, and Talmadge Graham was organist. A pig roast was held at the country home of the bride’s maternal grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy A. Carpenter.
Ms. Lena Gill, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. The other bridesmaids were Mrs. Larry Shifflett of Orange, Ms. Susan Rowland of Culpeper and Miss Britt Graham of Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Powell of Brandenberg, Kentucky, cousin of the groom, was flower girl.
Hunter Call of Warrenton was best man.
Groomsmen included Rufus Baines of Tappahannock, father of the groom, Bob Baines of Wellersburg, Pennsylvania, brother of the groom and William E. Powell of Brandenberg, Kentucky, cousin of the groom.
