Student prefects
are elected
Students at Wakefield School in Marshall completed the election process this week with the selection of class prefects. Previously, the student body had voted for president, vice-president and secretary/treasurer.
This week, students in grades 7 through 12 voted for a prefect for each class. In addition, the homeroom teacher for each class appointed a prefect in each grade.
The elected prefects were as follows: Grade 7, Donny Scott of Manassas; Grade 8, Virginia Yount of Warrenton; Grade 9, Jeremy Thorpe of Amissville; Grade 10, Michelle Paine of Delaplane; Grade 11, Stephanie Tomeden of Flint Hill and Grade 12, Alison Martin of Flint Hill.
The appointed prefects were: Grade 7, Cara Speziale of Front Royal; Grade 8, Peter Culley of Summit Point, (WV); Grade 9, Colleen Harrell of Haymarket; Grade 10, Jennifer Galli of Charles Town (WV); Grade 11, Matthew Durbin of Warrenton and Grade 12, Michael Irani of Front Royal.
The prefects are presided over by the head prefect, Michelle Egan of Warrenton. Egan was appointed last week by Headmaster Alan Saunders.
In the lower grades, prefects are . appointed on a rotating basis so that as many students as possible have „ exposure to the school government •system.
