Drought loans
are available
According to Lloyd A. Jones, State Director of Farmers Home Administration, 30 counties in Virginia have been named eligible for Farmers Home Administration emergency loans because of crop losses due to drought.
The counties of Caroline and Spotsylvania were designated by the Secretary of Agriculture Edward Madigan on Sept. 12 to qualify for losses incurred due to drought between Feb. 15 and Aug. 6.
The counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Highland, Isle of Wight, Richmond, Stafford, Warren and Westmoreland were designated on Sept. 26 to qualify for losses incurred due to drought between May 1 and Aug. 16.
Other counties are eligible because they are continguous to one or more of the above mentioned primary counties. They are: Culpeper and Rappahannock.
