Halloween dance

A “halloween dance” sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the fire hall on Saturday, Oct. 26. The band Tarragon will perform. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. For more information call 937-4357.

Trail ride and pig roast

A trail ride and pig roast will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 11 a.m. Ride is about 10 miles in Rappahannock County. Entry fee is $17 if received by Oct. 26. Horses are available for lease. Negative coggins required. For more information call John or Jennifer at 675-3307.

Tennis tournament

Rappahannock Park Authority will sponsor a mixed doubles tennis tournament Oct. 25-27 at the park. There will be a $10 entry fee per team. For more information and to sign-up call Jean Lillard at 6753670.

Haunting melodies

Native American flutist, R. Carlos Nakai, will perform his haunting melodies at the Theatre at Washington, Va. at 8 p,m. on Friday, Nov. 1 Local pianist Peter Kater will make a guest appearance to perform a few songs from their collaborative “Natives” recording.

Haunted house at Flint Hill

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department w ill hold its 2nd annual haunted house from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 at the fire hall. Treats and refreshments will be served. There is no admission charge. Parental discretion is advised for young children.
