on deer, according to Trooper C. A. Moore.
Moore reported that a 17-year-old Washington, Va. resident was southbound on Route 612, 1.3 miles north of Route 600, when she lost control of her 1980 Chevrolet attempting to avoid a deer. The car ran off the left side of the gravel road. The girl was not injured, but her car was destroyed, Moore reported. No charges were filed.
Later that evening, Christopher LaPointe, 36, of Boston, Va., was driving on Route 621, just east of Route 231, when he lost control of his car on the gravel road as he attempted to avoid a deer. The 1988 Jeep slid off the left side of the road and struck a bank. Moore estimated damage to the car at $2,500. Again, no charges were placed.
Ray Alan Strother, 32, of Delray, W.Va., was charged with failure to yield the right of way after an accident on U.S. 211 Oct. 1.
Trooper S.M. Knick reported that a 1971 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by John T. Beahm, 32, of Washington, Va., had just turned onto U.S. 211 from Route 622, when a 1985 Mack tractor, driven by Strother, pulled from a private drive into his path.
Neither driver was injured, Knick reported.
