Around lunchtime, three to four days out of the week, you can find always find them, (whoever “them" happens to be on that particular day) at Four & Twenty Blackbirds or the Public House in Flint Hill.
They wander in haphazardly “around 12:30,” sit down, greet one another, often with a good-natured insult, and the conversation is off and running, more like galloping, actually more like the 100-yard dash.
It’s Rappahannock’s famous and infamous Lunch Bunch, who have been getting together for lunch since Carter was president, (but not for that specific reason) to eat, talk, argue, laugh, inform and, to run the risk of using an 80s overused and sissy word, to bond.
