'Preserving Family Lands'
The Piedmont Environmental Council cordially invites you to an issues forum on “Preserving Family Lands" at Highland School in Warrenton from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Nov. 8.
Stephen J. Small, an attorney at Powers and Hall Professional Corporation in Boston will be speaking. Mr. Small specializes in income and estate tax planning for families and individuals with landholdings.

Cemetery trip
On Saturday, Oct. 31 all interested parties are instructed to meet at the Thornton Gap Old School Baptist Church at 9 o’clock to organize for the hike up Frazier Hollow, Shenandoah National Park to the Mary Frazier (or Joe Billy Bowen) Cemetery. In case of heavy rains or other inclement weather this date will be postponed to the following Saturday.
Fall picnic planned
The Rappahannock Farmers Association fall picnic is planned for 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18th at Windsor Lodge Farm, the home of Freddie and Clara Kummli in Huntly. Several local farmers and horticulturist will be on hand to share with the members traditional and not so traditional approaches to farming. The members will feast on lamb and pork raised by youngsters of Rappahannock 4-H.
