study and training to take back to their classrooms to expand and ■ enrich their science curriculums.
The first grade science curriculum is interpersed with such environmental concepts as ecology, fossils, geology and wildlife. All four first grades are following this expanded curriculum. Fourth grade topics are endangered species, pollution, recycling and the Chesapeake Bay.
Mr. Roszak participated in the Institute during the summer of 1991, and seventh graders have been well into environmental studies. This science environmental awareness will be spreading through R.C.E.S.
Smokey the Bear will visit the elementary school on Thursday as part of Fire Prevention Week.
