Halloween dance

A “halloween dance” sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the fire hall on Saturday, Oct. 31. The band Tarragon will perform. Costumes are optional. Call 937-4357 for more information.

Homemakers open house

Extension Homemaker’s open house will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 15 at Washington fire hall. A program entitled “Enviroshopping. . Buy Smarter” will begin at 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Helen Holschuh. Visit the E.H. Open House to learn about educational programs and membership in Rappahannock clubs, followed by guest speaker Mrs. Holschuh. Mrs. Holschuh is a member of the Rappahannock County Garden Club and chairman of numerous environmental projects.

Cigarettes Anonymous forming

The first meeting of Cigarettes Anonymous will be held at the Rappahannock Library at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16 for those who would like help to stop smoking. An organized method to help achieve stopping in an organized way will be presented. 'Phis method requires no gidgets, gadgets, or medications obtainable only by doctor’s prescriptions. In addition there are no charges to become a member of Cigarettes Anonymous. Being a member is in perpetuity. Only by attendance can help to stop smoking be given. Your leader is well qualified to give such help. Any questions call 675-1002, after 6 p.m.
