Council member Mark Bailey asked if people would be blinded by light spaced about 150 feet apart.
Referring to the sample light with a 70 watt bulb installed, Smulian said, “You can actually go right under the light and look up and not be blinded.
“It all depends on what you want: some places want daylight at night,”
“That is not what we want,” said Mayor Dean Morehouse.
Councilman Ray Gooch pointed out that the original motion that started the long-running light debate was to approximate with new lights the same amount of light the old fixtures had provided.
“I would hope that we could have about the same effect with pools of light,” he said.
