WNA hires
sewer plant
operator

The Water and Sewer authority announced that Donna Chabot has been hired as the new operator for | the Sperryville sewer plant.
Ms. Chabot, who lives in Culpeper, has 17 years experience with water and sewer plants and a Class 1 operator’s license.
Since October, 1992, she has been self-employed. Before that she worked for more than a year at the Rapidan Service Authority in Locust Grove as the operator in charge of the plant.
Before that she worked for nine years at Vint Hill Farms Station in the water and wastewater department. She also has experience working for the Army and in Spring Lake, North Carolina, and in Prince William County and the City of Manassas.
Ms. Qhabot was chosen out of three applicants interviewed by three members of the WSA. Ms. Chabot had the most experience and the highest level license. Members said any of the three would probably have been satisfactory, but Ms. Chabot’s additional training means that she can do some of the tests that are currently sent out, and that she has experience supervising others and can train an operator for weekends.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Ms. Chabot said. She expects to start next week. “It’s a really important job. We have neglected our environment for so long. We have to clean it up. I’m proud to be a wastewater plant operator.”
