the Computer Programming class to offer it for the past two years. She said the committee felt the class is worth offering, perhaps as a one semester class. She also said the committee recommends that two more one-semester classes be taught: Probability and Statistics and Problem Solving with Technology. Dr. Gangel said he would recommend another stipend be included in the budget to offer these classes. They would be open to anyone who has passed Algebra 1.

Finally the committee recommended that students who have completed Algebra 1 be given a choice of next taking Algebra 2 or Geometry.

Mrs. Williams said the commmittee expects these changes in the mathematics curriculum will mean “more rigor, more analysis, more time for thinking and more attention to the real world.”
