Computertots registration

Registration for children’s computer classes will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. The spring session includes Computertots classes for little one, ages 3-5, as well as Computer Explorer classes for boys and girls, ages 6-8. Modeled after the MIT Project for Young Children, classes of three to five students explore three new developmentally appropriate software packages each month in an interactive, collaborative setting. One-half hour sessions are scheduled four times monthly, at a cost of $24 per month.

C.T., the Computertots Turtle, will be on hand Tuesday to give free introductory mini-classes and pass out complimentary t-shirts to all youngsters enrolled.

Heart Fair planned

The Rappahannock County Health Department with the Rappahannock County Extension Homemakers, American Heart Association and American Cancer Society will be sponsoring their fourth annual Healthy Fair at the Health Department from 1-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

There will be free blood pressure screening and random cholesterol screening will be available for a $5 fee. Dietary and other heart healthy information and counseling will be available and the homemakers will have an exhibit on the new USD A food pyramid guidelines.

Informational meeting

There will be an informational meeting for parents and students going on the seventh grade trip to Williamsburg from 7:30-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 in the elementary school gymnasium. Seventh grade teacher Arthur Neufeld will show slides of past trips, go over the rules for the trip add answ er any questions.
