Richmond - Next year marks 100 years of service of the Virginia Veterinary Medical, Association. As part of the celebration, VVMA is sponsoring a Centennial Poster Contest for Virginia students in grades one through five. This event is in full swing and has generated excitement amoung educators, students, and parents.
The contest was designed to educate Virginia students about the rofi veterinary medicine plays in our s<| ciety. Veterinarians are not just responsible for the health of our household pets; they also care for farm animals, working to protect o# food supply. _Z>Poster
should depict one of foiir topics: proper care of animals, kindness to animals, how animals benem man, and how veterinary medicine protects man’s food supply. Students can use any medium - wat® colors, oils, acrylics, and even craj*ons. Posters should be 28 inches wide by 22 inches high. Smaller works may be mounted on a 28 inch by 22 inch sheet.
Artwork must be delivered to a local veterinarian by March 1. Entries should include student’s name* address, telephone, and poster topic.
