In celebration of Black History month the Rappahannock County Library will have a special guest, Nigerian-born Okon Akpan at 8 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 20.
Mr. Akpan will present a program of African culture. Akpan a story teller, created a video with the help of professional cameramen of Nigerian dancers performing many tribal dances including the Spider Dance, dancers suspended between two poles one hundred feet in the air spinning and dancing with out a net Jbelow. » This video has been well received «here in the United States. The ■ Smithsonian Institute as well as, I hundreds of colleges and schools J have bought a copy of this unique vi<• deo. Besides viewing the video Okon I will bring hundreds of African works I of art including masks, musical inJstruments, clothing and artifacts.
