RICHMOND — Supporters ol Republican gubernatorial hopeful George F. Allen are reeling over news reports that a group of powerful GOP financiers have asked Allen to pull his candidacy and run for attorney general.
On Saturday, the Virginian-Pilot anti Ledger Star and the Roanoke Times & World News, quoting knowledgeable sources, reported that Allen performed badly before a group of 20 party contributors in private meeting along with his two rivals.
