Virginians in the know will saddle up for wire-to-wire action when they attend any of the pointto-points and sanctioned race meets held in northern Virginia.
As always, the Virginia pointto-point circuit plays a vital role introducing many of the country’s top ’chasers to the public. The 1993 season holds brilliant promise for up and coming talent hailing from all comers of the Old Dominion and beyond.
Following is a study of some top locally-based trainers and their progeny that might make the running this spring
Pete Aylor — Aylor conditioned the 1991 VSA Hurdle Horse of the Year Vernon’s Victory and say's that the eight-vearold will return to the track this spring.
Aylor will also campaign his new horse. Spell Singer, in the owner-rider hurdle series. Marlboro Prince will race Over timber for owner Jo Pat Murphy, and Come On Gerald should start over hurdles for owner Wit Kuncewicz.
Mike Berryman — Bom and raised in Middleburg, Berryman now conditions near Bristol, Va.
