Support group to meet

“Working Through Grief,” a support group will meet every Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. The groups are structured to help each participant better understand and cope with his or her loss. If you or a loved one is in need of bereavement support, please call the Hospice office at 825-4840.

Play group meets

A play group meets from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursdays at Trinity Episcopal Church. You may wish to bring a snack for yourself and your children. All are welcome. For any questions call 937-5314.

Overeaters meeting

A weekly 12-step meeting of Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday’s at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Newcomers always welcome. For more information call 675-3716.

Vocational Education week set

Vocational week is underway at Piedmont Technical Educational Center and will continued until Feb. 19.

Mr. John Bodine, Principal, extends a cordial invitation to the public to visit the school on Route 15 and observe vocational educational students preparing fo^Ujeworld of work. For the rest of the week the local VICA chapter (Vedftlfbnal Industrial Clubs of America) students will competing infill and leadership contests on a local level.

The skill contests range from Automotive Mechanics to Welding; the leadership contests include Job Interview, Prepared Speech, Poster, Spelling to name a few. If you would like to observe a particular contest, please call the school at 825-0476 and you will be advised of the date and the time. The winners of the local VICA contests will compete in the VICA District X Contests on March 27. Piedmont will be hosting District X Contests this year.
