We have received a quote of $440 for a 12 foot, three inch diameter trunk, five to seven year old tree. This includes planting, mulching, one year of care and a one year guarantee.
Ideally, one or more of you could have this type of tree on you property and would be willing to donate it, saving a large part of the purchase price.
We are particularly interested in shade trees such as Tulip Poplars and Maples and. not evergreens. The ten trees which have been approved by the county are our goal.
Recognition will be given to those families, businesses and organizations who contribute to this worthy endeavor. Please consider if you can be a part of improving and beautifying our county park.
Contributions are tax deductible and checks should be made out to the Rappahannock Recreation Authority, P.O. Box 519, Washington, Va. 22747, with a note on the check indicating that it is for the Park-Phase II.
