• Require a firearms show promoter to give at least 30 days notice to state police in the area where the show will be held.
• Make it a felony for a juvenile to possess or carry a gun, unless in lawful hunting or target shooting with an adult. Also, extend the conviction of a juvenile found guilty of carrying a concealed weapon to his adult re- ' cord.
• Raise from two to four years the prison term for use of gun during a felony. After that, the jail term would increase to six years.
The Senate last week passed the following legislation:
• Set a mandatory two-year prison term for a person convicted of using a “straw purchaser” or frontman to buy a gun.
• Reduce from 10 years to two years the time a gun dealer must maintain records of guns sales. The bill however broadens the law to include all types of guns.
• Require gun dealers to offer buyers information on laws governing the purchase, possession and use of firearms. Safety and security information also would be provided
• Require gun dealers to get proof of resi- • dency and identification from buyers of two or more handguns in any seven-day period. The certificate must be kept on file for 10 years.
