“SHE CAME TO FISH,’’ was the appraisal of one long-time trout fisherman as he watched nine-year-old Fran Dombrowski and her father, Butch. With some expert guidance (top), and fly tying (bottom left), supplied by her father, the young lady soon landed a trout — one of several she caught. The two Ben Venue residents were among several hundred kids and adults who fished last Saturday on the Rose River in Criglersville. The Rapidan Chapter of Trout Unlimited, along with the Virginia Game Commission, sponsors the yearly “kids only” fishing area on the first day of trout season.
