The Rappahannock County Garden Club, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, the Lions Club and Piedmont Environmental Council have joined, together to create an Environmental Awareness Week March 27-31 in the county schools.
Many activities are planned to make the students more aware of the present state of our local environment and what they can do to protect it.
Bulletin boards and displays will be put up in both the elementary and high schools. These are being prepared by the Garden Club, the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, and by the PEC. The displays will show' the many uses and needs of trees and forests, animal habitat, water misuse and conservation, and the disgrace of litter.
On Thursday, March 30, a special assembly at both schools will feature Ed Clark from the Virginia Wildlife Center at Weger’s Cave. Mr. Clark,
