Democratic Committee to meet

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. on March 27 at the courthouse in Washington to plan for the caucus to be held on April 8. Barbara Greco and David Crump, candidates for the House of Delegates from the 31st District, will attend.

Race tickets at Snaps

Advance ticket sales for the Great Meadows Steeplechase race which will be held Saturday, May 0 will be available at Snaps in Flint Hill. There will be advance ticket sales only. Hours are Monday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 12:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to noon. For further information call 675-3838.

Sue Slaughter area meeting

The spring meeting of the Sue Slaughter area group will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperrvville. There will be a slide presentation by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Holschuh on their recent trip to Kenya and a report by Mrs. L. Starke Jones on her work in Bermuda during WMU Focus Week in February.

The Sue Slaughter area consists of women of the Amissville, Chester Gap, Forest Grove, Mount Lebanon, Reynolds Memorial, Washington and Woodville Baptist Churches. Pastors, members of these and other churches and friends are invited to attend.

Woman's Club to meet

The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Cheri Woodard in Sperrvville. All members are urged to attend.

RAA baseball registration

T-ball, Little League and Babe Ruth for boys and girls ages 6-15 will be held March 25 at the Rappahannock Elementary School field from 10 a.m.-noon. Fee is $15 for first child or $25 for two or more. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is needed for all ages. For more information call Jeanne Welch at 987-8332.

Daytime CPR course

The Rappahannock County Extension Office, in cooperation with . .t^^^ppahannuck-Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council, is sponsoring a CPR course on Monday and Tuesday, April 10 and 11. It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Washington fire hall. The cost is $6, which covers the cost of materials. To pre-register, or for more information, call Sandra Richardson at the Extension office (675-3619).

Contest deadline

The deadline for entries in the county-wide Recyclable Art Contest has been extended until Thursday, April 13, when they may be delivered to the Middle Street Gallery from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Winners in the student division will be announced at the opening of the Recycled Art Show on Sunday, April 16 at the gallery.
