Exposure, over time, can result in tumors, reproductive failure, birth defects, respiratory problems and liver damage.
Many of the 50,000 chemicals registered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have never been tested for chronic exposure — small dosages for long periods. Since cause and effect are hard to prove, some Virginians, who believe they are victims of misuse, may never be able to prove these chemicals have caused their health problems.
