BOND FINANCING BY THE COUNTY OF

RAPPAHANNOCK, VA.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia (“County”) will hold a public hearing in accordance with Sections 15.1171.1 and 15.1-504, code of Virginia 1950 (as > amended), on the issuance of not to exceed $20,703.47 in general obligation school bonds (“Bonds”) of the

County to finance the purchase of equipment through the Governor’s Educational Technology Initiative Procurement and Financing Program for school purposes. A resolution authorizing the issuance of the Bonds will be considered by the Board of Supervisors at its meeting on April 3, 1989. A copy of such resolution is on file in the Office of the County Administrator in the Town of Washington, Va.

The Public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, will be held at 7:00 p.m. on April 3, 1989, before the Board of Supervisors, in the Courthouse in Washington, VA.

CAUCUS NOTICE

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold a caucus at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 8, 1989, at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia, for the purpose of electing delegates and alternates to three Democratic Conventions: the 31st Legislative District, the 7th Congressional District, and the State Conventions.

The 31st Legislative District Convention will nominate a Democratic candidate for the Va. House of Delegates from the 31st District. This Convention will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, 13 May 1989, at the Union Hall, Chester St., Front Royal.

The 7th Congressional District Convention will nominate 20 people to the State Central Committee, three members each to the permanent credentials and rules committee, and conduct such other business as required. This Convention will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, 20 May 1989, in Blackwell Auditorium on the campus of Randolph Macon College, Ashland, Va.

The 1989 State Democratic Convention will:

(1) elect State Party officers and members of the State Central Committee to terms of four years:

(2) nominate Democratic candidates for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General; and

(3) conduct such business as may be set forth in the 1989. Call or in any subsequent agenda provided by the Convention Rules Committee.

The State Convention will be held on June 9-10,1989 at the Richmond Center in Richmond, Va.

Any person attending a caucus, before participating in that caucus, shall sign a standard Declaration Form, stating that he or she is a Democrat, does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee in the ensuing general election, is not a member of any other political party, and is a registered voter in Rappahannock County. Declaration Forms must be filled out at the caucus site prior to 12:00 noon on April 8, 1989. Doors to the caucus will be closed at this time, and no person may complete a form or enter the caucus site after this time with the exception of those persons in line at the above-mentioned time.

Persons wishing to be delegates or alternates to these conventions must prefile, with the Chair of the Rappahannock County Democratic Committee or his designee listed below. They must also pay a $15 filing fee or sign a waiver. PrefilingTorms must be received prior to 5:00 PM, on Saturday, April 1,1989.
