'Married to the Mob' at theater
The movie Married to the Mob will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The movie stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Dean Stockwell and Matthew Modine. This film is an exuberantly tacky romantic comedy which delights in the garish lifestyles of Long Island mafiosi. Director Jonathan Demme’s heroine, Angela — played with a stunning mix of comic agitation and haunted vulnerability by Pfeiffer — is the unhappy wife of a cool, mob hit man. But Angela gets her freedom when her husband gets “iced” by his boss, who wastes no time putting the moves on the beautiful widow. The movie is rated R. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
