A total of 250 of 313 students enrolled at Wakefield School in Huntly participated in Wakefield’s Ski Club this year. The students, with some parents and faculty, skied six days at Bryce Resort in Basye. Wakefield’s is the largest ski club in the area. Student skiers were divided into 22 classes. Paula Campbell coordinated the Wakefield Ski Club activities.

The Wakefield Cups to the best overall boy and girl skiers went to Tim Andreae, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Andreae of Bentonville, and Jennifer Torneden, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Macon of Flint Hill. The Best Technical Boy Skier winner was Chris Larrieu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Larrieu of Manassas; Alvson Myers, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Myers of Middleburg, was named the Best Technical Girl Skier.

The Parents’ Cup women’s winner was Evie Moreman of Front Royal; David Langfitt, also of Front Royal, was the men’s Parents' Cup
