The scholarship is awarded at the end of fall semester, and applied to the recipient’s fees for the second semester.
“We are pleased with this support from SWIFT,” commented Michael B. Dowdy, vice president for college relations. “The quality of the college’s computer science program and its value to the region were important factors in SWIFT’s decision to provide these funds."
Mr. Dowdy, praised the quality of the college’s computer science faculty, and the educational benefits provided the community since 19S1 when the department was founded. Through the years, he added, several employees of SWIFT have enrolled as students in the computer science program at Mary Washington College.
