from 7-9:30 p.m. Karen Stinnett will teach and demonstrate the techniques used with various subject matters, materials and methods. Students should bring watercolor paints, paper and brushes, a jar for water, a palette and paper towels. Cost for the four classes is $45.
Deborah Cass Hoffman will teach an eight-week course in beginning drawing each Tuesday during April and May. Beginning on April 4, from 7-9 p.m.. the course will start with basic shapes and the simple rules for drawing them. Students will be introduced to still life, landscapes and figure drawing. Students of any level of training are welcome. Cost for the course is $75.
Miniatures in art will be the object of “Children’s Assemblage: Shoebox Art,” set for April 5 and 12. This after-school class will be taught by Karen Stinnett from 4-6 p.m. Both a demonstration and a workshop, students will create a room in a box. Each student should bring a shoebox and any scraps they wish to use. Suggested materials include material scraps, popsicle sticks, pipe cleaner's, buttons, foil and other “found items.”
Pre-registration for all of the classes is requested. Interested persons may call the gallery (675-3440) to register for the classes.
