Ed Clark of the Virginia Wildlife Foundation said he has been authorized by the Virginia Fish and Wildlife Service to release the information that the pair of bald eagles found dead in Rappahannock County died from fractured skulls.
“They had been bludgeoned to death,” Mr. Clark said.
He also said stomach contents of the golden eagle, red-tailed hawk and vulture found dead in Madison County last month have been analyzed and at least two had been eating sheep meat.
