On May 9 the Womens Missionary Union of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church honored two of their members on their birthdays, Mrs. Elizabeth Deane whose birthday was May 4 and Mrs. Cary Thornhill's on May 9. The covered dish luncheon party was held at the home of Mrs. Liz Lagos with the following ladies in addition to ones already mentioned present Mrs. Joseph Duncan, Mrs. Joyce Bennett, Mrs. Shirley Peneranda, Mrs. Jane Thornhill, Mrs. Lottie Johnston, Mrs. Alice Deal, Mrs. Virginia Burke, Mrs. Beatrice Butler, Mrs. Wanda Waddell and Mrs. Jean Gibbs. Also attending was Mrs. Betty Cahill of Winchester.
Mr. and Mrs. John Waddell of Route 707 attended the senior banquet at the Rappahannock High School Saturday evening.
Our great sympathy goes out to the Lillard family upon the passing of Mrs. Ruth Lillard on Saturday at the age of 94.
Mother’s Day guests of Mrs. Cary Thornhill were Mr. and Mrs. Winfrey Thornhill of Nokesville and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Matthews and sons Brandon, Bobby and Zeke of Bealeton. Mrs. Thornhill’s Saturday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thornhill of “Grayson Hill,” Gary Kopjanski, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill and Melanie, also Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Thornhill and Brittany of Culpeper. Her Thursday guests were Mrs. George Butler, Freddie Butler and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Duncan.
